Nuestras 7 tendencias tecnológicas para 2024

Our 7 technological trends for 2024

Technology

The current technological landscape is characterized by acceleration, which has been further reinforced in the last year by the impetus of artificial intelligence. In this context, the new projects undertaken and the numerous conversations with clients and potential clients provide us with insight and allow us to glimpse a snapshot of technological trends for 2024.

1. Generative AI

2023 has been the year of GenAI's explosion, and this technology will continue to proliferate on a larger scale in 2024. At SEIDOR Opentrends, we have initiated projects with our key clients, aiming to exploit this technology in production as soon as possible, whether to enhance people's attention or improve operational processes. Terms like GPT, LLM, or RAG are now part of our everyday vocabulary.

2. AI Cloud

Our approach to AI involves leveraging services and tools available in the cloud for building AI solutions. Specifically, we focus on using PaaS services from major cloud providers (primarily Amazon Bedrock and Azure OpenAI), providing not only the inherent advantages of the cloud (scalability, pay-as-you-go) but also the invaluable ability to develop AI solutions from an engineering perspective.

3. Cloud-Native development and App Modernization

We will continue to develop cloud-native applications for our clients. Cloud-native applications are based on DevOps principles, continuous delivery, microservices, and containers to harness the benefits of the cloud. We will also support our clients on their "journey to cloud," modernizing legacy systems toward cloud-first models.

4. Lowcode

Will Low Code prevail for developing software applications without the need for coding, using visual and intuitive platforms? We don't know, but we have closely monitored this trend, prepared our teams, and believe that in 2024, relatively significant implementations will begin, including the modernization of legacy management applications.

5. Blockchain

Blockchain? Indeed. The technology that spent years searching for a problem to solve is now a key element in a lottery participation digitization solution we are developing at SEIDOR Opentrends. We are also undertaking a significant interuniversity project in Spain to evolve the current interoperability model and facilitate the exchange of university data.

6. "Real" Agile

Clients and IT providers have long tried to reconcile the demand for a closed scope and budget with an implementation that adopts agile practices as much as possible. Lately, we are pleased to see that the agile methodology is gaining prominence from the very procurement of IT services: projects with a closed budget (of course), but whose scope is limited to defining major epics, with periodic billing based on work done rather than specific deliverables. We anticipate great success for these projects.

7. Sustainable technology

We are the first consulting firm to achieve the "net zero" accreditation from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge. This accomplishment is not only because we believe there is a societal demand for organizations to do things well and with the lowest possible carbon footprint (which will eventually lead to new regulatory frameworks in this regard) but also because it is ingrained in our purpose: humanizing technology, creating solutions with a positive impact.

Conclusion

The year 2023 marked the beginning of some technological innovations that we believe will accelerate in the coming year. 2024 promises innovations that will generate significant opportunities, both for transforming businesses and for doing so in the right way with a positive impact.
