"La Grossa" digitalizes the management of shares with blockchain technology
Challenge
Loteries de Catalunya proposes a proof of concept to introduce blockchain technology in the issuance of shares for "La Grossa," one of its most popular community lotteries. It is a process that, currently and predominantly, is carried out using paper booklets, hence presenting a significant opportunity for digitalization.
Loteries de Catalunya is a public entity for gambling associated with the Department of Economy and Finance of the Government of Catalonia.
Solution
Creation of an integrated app and website with a blockchain gateway (Bloock) that digitalizes the shares and their processes of generation, sale, purchase, and result validation.
A complete circuit of share buying and selling was simulated, with verification and revocation, resulting in the creation of digitally verifiable and certified cryptographic shares with a blockchain system.
Applying blockchain technology has allowed La Grossa to gain accessibility, transparency, and traceability.
Results
The implementation of this comprehensive solution with blockchain technology allowed:
