Office of Data and Data Mesh Platform

Challenge

Navigating the path to success

AMB needed to centralize, optimize, and automate the exploitation of AMB Information's data to extract insights and make better decisions regarding transportation and metropolitan mobility. Among the objectives is detecting trends and patterns, making forecasts, planning mobility, and improving information for users, both from AMB and the included municipalities.

Solution

The key to transformation

SEIDOR Opentrends offers a service in the form of a data office focused on developing a platform based on Data Mesh. A new organizational and architectural concept that goes beyond the "data lake" and divides stored data into business domains to facilitate the creation of data products. Data Mesh is based on decentralization, interoperability, and prioritizing the data consumer experience.

The Data Office supports in identifying use cases, then implementing them on the platform (integrating new data sources, data transformation, and storage). For data exploitation, the Office is available to AMB, although the principle is to promote user training and knowledge dissemination to encourage self-consumption.

Results

The impact of working together

The implementation of the first use cases has already allowed automating report generation processes and will in the future:

  • Automate processes and reduce operational costs.
  • Accelerate the time to obtain insights from data.
  • Empower AMB to prioritize quickly and make relevant decisions.
